Old Rockers Get Together 2015

On July 12th I went to the Old Rockers Get Together an reunion of Brisbane musicians from the 60's at Broncos Leagues Club for the first time as it had been held @ Riverside Ballroom in New Farm for many years and it was my 6th time going there which this year was put together by Paul Morgan(Poor Man's Sons) and Anna Churchill. I caught the bus from Cannon Hill to the City, then caught the bus from the City to Red Hill and walk to the Broncos Leagues Club which I rang home. Saw Anna Churchill, Paul Morgan and Barry Schutze, went inside, had an coke Zero and Saw Mick and Gail. The show started @ 11am with the first act being Poor Man's Sons with Paul Morgan and Stan which they did a set of classic rock n roll songs and it was during their set that I went up on the stage with Anna which I got an award for my contribution for keeping the 50's and 60's rock n roll alive as I put newspaper clippings on the Brisbane Rock n Roll Scene of the 50's and 60's facebook

Love and Mercy

On Saturday June 27th I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the Love and Mercy. In the 60's the young Brian Wilson(Paul Dano) who with his group the Beach Boys having success with hits like I get Around, Surfin USA, Surfin Safari, Help Me Rhonda and California Girls when he is driven to change the musical direction of the group which would lead to the making of the album Pet Sounds which has become an classic album and having the hit Good Vibrations before breaking down and in the 1980's the older Brian Wilson(John Cusack) who is an broken and an confused man who is under the control of therapist Eugene Landy(Paul Giamatti) but it's meeting an lady named Melinda Ledbetter(Elizabeth Banks) who is determined to save Brian and it gets interesting. It's an BRILLIANT and an SUPERB movie with excellent acting by Paul Dano, John Cusack, Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti. Normie Rowe and the Playboys @ Kedron Wavell June 25th 2015

On June 25th I went to Kedron Wavell to see legendary Australian singer Normie Rowe with his legendary band the Playboys which it was my 14th time seeing Normie and it was my first time seeing the Playboys which has the original drummer Graeme "Trotta" Trottman, Gil Matthews who played drums with Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs and Mondo Rock on guitar, Steve Kelson on keyboards and Anthony Bafuno on bass as this show was an CD launch of the new compilation Frenzy to celebrate 50 years when Normie came on the scene with It Ain't Necessarily So. Jurassic World

On Sunday June 14th I went to Myer Centre Cinema to see the movie Jurassic World with my friend Billy. After the incident @ Jurassic Park 22 years before an new theme park called Jurassic World which has cloned dinosaurs is now operating on the same island and 2 brothers Gray(Ty Simpkins) and Zach (Nick Robinson) Mitchell are going there to see their Aunt Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) who is the park's operations manager and Owen grady(Chris Pratt) is an Velociraptor expert and trainer who has trained 4 of them and then the Indominus escapes which goes on an killing spree and it's up to Claire and Owen to stop it which gets interesting. It is an interesting,action packed and an excellent movie with excellent acting by Dallas Bryce Howard, Chris Pratt, Vincent D'Onofrio who plays Vic Hoskins head of security Operations, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, Irrfan Khan, B.D Wong who was in Jurassic Park 22 years ago appears in this movie playing Dr Henry Wu, Judy Gr

Warwick trip 2015

On Friday June 12th Me, Mum,Dad and Heath went to Warwick for the day as I had been planning to go for months as we were going to stay for the night but due to my dog Gee Gee having surgery we decided to got for the day. I have been to Warwick about 4 times and the reason I was going to Warwick this year was to see where my grandfather Peter Joseph Hagenbach Jr came from and plan to visit the graves of his relations as well as the Historical Society as his family were one of the Pioneering families in the Darling Downs area as my great great grandfather Peter Hagenbach emigrated here on the Cesar Godeffroy having left Hamburg Germany October 25th 1861 and arrived in brisbane January 30th 1862 and his wife Margaret Wallace came here on the Warren hastings June 20th 1864 and my great great grandparents from my grandfather's mother's side Thomas Phelan emigrated here on may 28th 1863 on the Golden Dream and Mary Frost came with her parents on the Argyle July 28th 1852.
