Lightyear

On Thursday June 16th I went to the Balmoral Cinema with my brother Heath to see the movie Lightyear. Buzz Lightyear(voiced by Chris Young) who has been on an mission with his friend Alisha Hawthrne(voiced by Uzo Aduba) which they explored the planet T'Kani Prime with their recruitment Featheringhamstan (Voiced by Bill Hader) which they are forced to retreat to their vessel after discovering that the planet hosts hostile lifeforms and Buzz goes to test the hyperspace test which every 4 minutes 4 years goes by on T'Kani Prime due to the effects to time and meets an roboctic cat named Sox (Voiced by Peter Cohn) . Everytime Buzz did the testing the hyperspace test goes over to 62 years which Alisha has an son and passes away of old age. Buzz goes against the orders of the new commanding officer Commander Burnside (voiced by Isiah Whitlock Jr ) and use the new fuel composition for an succesful hyperspace test which works and when he lands he discovers that 22 years has passe

Palomino III at the Coolangatta Sands Hotel

On Sunday night June 12th I went to the Coolangatta Sands Hotel to see the band Palomino III which has Dan and Maree from the A Band Called Twang who also played at Cooly Rocks On and it was my first time seeing Paolmino. I went to the hotel and saw Lorraine and Jaques who is Eileen's partner. The show started @ 7pm which the band did 2 sets doing an mixture of original songs they wrote as well as covers including Folsom Prison Blues as well as Love Struck Baby and Bullfrog which everyone having an great time dancing and enjoying themselves as it was the last show for the festival and also during the interval I drank Coke with No Sugar as well as seeing Tyler with Leanne who told me that he will tell Ray my address as he has an record of mine which I accidently lost last year as I meant to ask him about it but didn't get a chance . The show finished at 9pm which I lefta ctually @ 8.59pm, went to the Blue C, check everything, went in the car which Dad had to drop off

The Satellites at the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage

On Sunday afternoon June 12th I went back to the Queen Elizabeth Stage in Coolangatta to see the band from Adelaide The Satellites who have been around for 28 years and it was actually my first time seeing them. Their set started @ 2.45pm which they were for an hour and 15 minutes they did an set of original songs as well as covers including Jackson and an Bill Haley song as well as everyone having an great time dancing and enjoying themselves as well as seeing Kevin and his wife Diane who I have not seen since last year which they are well. The show finished @ 4pm and I went back to the Blue C unit. It was an FANTASTIC show which the Satellites sounded great and played great with great songs and having an great time themselves and I look forward to seeing them again in the future.

Ezra Lee and Louis King @ the Dixon Street Stage

On Sunday afternoon June 12th I went to the Dixon Street Stage in Coolangatta to see Ezra lee and Louis King and I had not seen Ezra for about 12 years since Wintersun at the Coolangatta Tweed Club Saturday June 12th 2010 but it was my first time seeing Louis King. The show started at 1pm and for the hour and 15 minutes they did an mixture original songs and covers with Ezra sing his and Louis would sing which for 2 songs Sweet Felicia an Victoria came on stage with them including Shake Rattle and Roll as well as everybody enjoying themselves and having an great time. The show finished at 2.15pm and it was an FANTASTIC show which both Ezra and Louis were FANTASTIC playing great as well as entertaining everybody doing great songs including an version of Great Balls Of Fire, I Ain't Got You and Rocket 88. Ezra Lee who along with Lance Lipinsky and Jade Hurley is one of the best rock and roll piano and singers I have seen live. Ezra will be at Greazefest at Redlands Showgrounds nex

DooWop Dolls @ the Queen Elizabeth Stage

On Sunday morning June 12th I went to the Queen Elizabeth Stage to see the group the DooWop Dolls who are from the Sunshine Coast and it was my first time seeing them. I had arrived after 9.30am when they came on and did an set of songs from the Andrews Sisters, Ronettes, the Supremes, Dusty Springfield, Nancy Sinatra and many others and during the set they took off their collar shirts and skirts which underneath were the purple dresses as well as everyone enjoying themselves and having an great times. The show finished at 10.30am and the show was FANTASTIC which they sounded great and looked great as well as getting everyone entertained. I hope they come back next year and if you have not seen them please do yourselves an favour and SEE THEM which you will be impressed and amazed hearing great music from an great era. On Saturday night June 11th I went to the Elvis Precinct for the 3rd and final time for Cooly Rocks On 2022 to see singer Vicky O'Keefe which it was my 5th time seeing her as the last time was Kedron Wavell 8 years ago. The show started @ 7.30pm with Vicky O'Keefe wearing red and which she played piano as well as guitar and sang many of her dad's classics from the 50's, 60's and 70's as well as her own songs as well as the Dusty Springfield song Son Of A Preacher Man she has recorded and in the second wore white which in that second set showed clips of her dad from the 50's, 60's and 70's including This is Your Life as well as the TV shows he hosted as well as an Bandstand Special August 6th 1966 and Dennis came out early in that second set doing Mockingbird with Vicky as well as telling stories about working with Johnny O'Keefe including being asked to page JOK in Perth and had to buy an expensive scotch and among the songs in the sec

On Saturday afternoon I went to the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage in Coolangatta to see the Brisbane group Morse Code and the Secret Squirrels which it was my second time seeing them as I saw them just a year ago at Cooly Rocks On. The show started @ 12.30pm which they started off with Suicide Is Painless and for the next 1 hour and 15 minutes they performed songs by the Four Tops, Hermans Hermits, David Lee Roth, Del Shannon, Louis Armstrong and the lead vocals were done by Cherryn Bray most of them and Peter Uppman did some lead vocals as well as everyone enjoying themselves and having an great time singing along to the great songs and playing them in an diffrent style which it's great to see. The show finished @ 1.45pm and the show was FANTASTIC with great singing by Cherryn and Peter as well as great playing by the band entertaining the crowd which I look forward to seeing them again soon. B Daddy and the Double D's @ the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage

On Saturday morning June 11th I went to the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage in Coolangatta to see the band B Daddy and the DOuble D's which it was my first time seeing them live. The show started at 9.30am and for the next hour and 40 minutes the band performed an mixture of original songs and covers of Reverend Horton Heat songs, Elvis Presley, the Stray Cats and an did an version of Jackson which the drummer had to wear an wig to the duet with B Daddy which was great and I saw Ray, his wife, Tyler and Leeanne. The show finished at about 11.10am and went to Woolworths as well as taking photos of the cars. It was FANTASTIC and the band played great and sang great with everyone enjoying themselves dancing and having an great time.

On Friday night June 10th I went to the Coolangatta Sands Hotel to see the band from Bali called The Hydrant and they have been around for 18 years which they have released 5 albums . The show started @ 7pm which they performed an 2 hour set doing an mixture of original songs as well as covers of Bill Haley, Elvis Presley,Ray Charles and many others as well as entertaining the crowds which was very packed to sing along to the songs and everyone enjoying themselves and having an great time. The show finished at 9pm and I walked back to the Blue C which I rang dad. It was an FANTASTIC and ROCKING show and the band were just FANTASTIC which they are great entertainers with the lead singer an great showman entertaining everybody and the other musicians which just great too as it was great seeing an international rockabilly act back at Cooly ROcks On after an few years which were one of the highlights for me being at CRO 2022 . The Australian Buddy Holly Show and the Girls Of Rock and Roll Show @ the Queen Elizabeth Stage

On Friday afternoon I went back to the Queen Elizabeth Stage to see the Australian Buddy Holly Show for the second time that week as I saw Chris at Twin Towns and the Girls of Rock and Roll with Jodie Joy which it was my first time seeing her which Chris had told me a bit about her at Twin Towns. The show started at 1.15pm with Jodie doing an set of the female singers clasics by Dusty Springfield, Connie Francis and Wanda Jackson and the Chris Knight came on stage doing many of the Buddy Holly classics as well as other rock classics by Elvis Presley, Ritchie Valens, Jerry Lee Lewis and at the end of the show when Chris was doing Johnny Be Goode Jodie joined him on stage doing the song. The show finished at 2.45pm, had a look at Pawnbroker shop where I bought records and walk back to the Blue C. It was FANTASTIC and ROCKING with an FANTASTIC set by Chris as well as an FANTASTIC set done by Jodie backed up by a great band with Bill Hillman on guitar, Gail Kelle on bass, Graham on pian

Jake and the Cadillacs @ the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage

Last Friday morning I went to the Queen Elizabeth Park Stage to see the group Jake and the Cadillacs which it was my 2nd time seeing them as I first saw them 4 years during Cooly Rocks On. The show started at 9.30am which they did an set for 1 hour and 30 minutes and they did an mixture of rock and roll classics by Carl Perkins, The Easybeats, Eddie Cochran, Robert Palmer, Pink, Elvis Presley as well as some songs they wrote too with people dancing and having an great time as well as enjoying themselves. The show finished at 11am with an great version of the AC/DC classic You Shook Me All Night Long which they did it so well and it was FANTASTIC and ROCKING with great playing and great entertainment by the guys which they do put on a show which everyone enjoys. I look forward to seeing them again soon.

Eras of Elvis 50's 68 Special and 70's with Brody Finlay and Jack Gatto @ the Elvis Precinct

Last Thursdsay June 9th I went to the Elvis Precinct for the second night in an row this time seeing the Eras Of Elvis 50's 68 Special and the 70's show which I walked there from Blue C, went inside and use my mobile. The show started @ 7.43pm with Kay Shannon again doing the compering which Brody Finaly doing the 50's and 60's hits of Elvis including Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog and Don't Be Cruel as well as some of the songs from the movies including Viva Las Vegas and Return to Sender from Girls Girls Girls and then Jack Gatto came out to do the 68 Special period as well as 70's period of Elvis including If I Could Dream, Burnin Love, Moody Blue which he changed the clothes from the black gear that he wore for the 68 Special to the white clothes Elvis wore in the 70's period and also the back up band Tributes In Concert band did What I'd Say as well as Brody joining Jack at the end of the show doing Can't Help Falling In Love. Last Wednesday I went to the Elvis Precinct in Coolangatta to see the Elvis tribute Elvis The Best Of the 70's That's The Way It Is Plus The Concert Years and it's an tribute to the period in the 70's when Elvis Presley was performing live as well as doing the documentary That's The Way It Is which was shown in 1970 as well as ELvis performing in Las Vegas up to 1976. The show started at 7.30pm with Kay Shannon doing the intro to the acts and the first act was Che Orton which he performed the Elvis songs in the That's The Way It Is documentary including Suspicious Minds , Sweet Caroline, Heartbreak Hotel, Words, Mystery Train/Tiger Man and many others and then Brendon Chase then came on after Che which he performed the songs he performed during the 70's concert years including Never Been To Spain, Promised Land, You Gave Me A Mountain and many others backed up by an great band Tributes In Concert Band which they played very well and sounding great too.

How To Please A Woman

Last Wednesday I went to the Hoyts Cinema at Tweed City to see the Australian movie How To Please A Woman. Gina Henderson(Sally Phillips) who is married to Adrian (Cameron Daddo) and is late go from her job which she starts an her own all male cleaning business with them doing the cleaning as well as having sex with the women from her ocean swimming community including Monique (Tasma Walton) and Hayley (Hayley McElhenney) and it starts becoming very successful which then Gina has things to deal with gets interesting. It's excellent, very funny and very entertaining with great acting by Ally Phillips, Cameron Daddo, Tasma Walton, Erik Thomson, Hayley McElhenney, Myles Pollard and Alexander Tom. It's directed by Renee Webster who also did the screenplay and the producers were Tania Chambers and Judi Levine and I give it 4 stars as it's still in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and see it which you will be entertained.

Issi Dye and the Legends Of Rock and Roll Show @ Twin Towns

On Tuesday June 7th I went to the Twin Towns Services CLub to see legendary Australian singer Issi Dye and the Legends of Rock and Roll and it was my first time at Twin Towns for 2 years since Tuesday January 14th 2020 which I was looking forward to going back there for a show. The show started @ 11am with Issi Dye backed by Les on piano and Les on drums coming on stage doing 2 songs, then Glen Douglas coming on stage doing the Roy Orbison classics wearing the black clothes and the sunglasses, then legendary Australian singer Tony Worsley who I have not seen live for 2 years came on stage sang an few songs including 2 Brook Benton songs as well as his 1965 hit Velvet Waters and he mentioned about Barry Gibb as well as turning 80 this year saying that in the 60's he was an pop star and now he's grandad, Issi and Glen on next doing the Everly Brothers stuff both playing guitars Issi playing left handed, Chris Knight came on next doing the Buddy Holly Segment backed by Gail
