Remembering Aunty margaret

On Sunday July 10th 2011 my Aunty Margaret passed away unexceptedly from an heart attack at her home for 45 years in Carina aged 77 and it was a huge shock to my family which with the passing of Uncle John last year and Aunty Dawn in 1986 leaves my mother Cath as nana's only surviving child which i hope and pray that Mum will be around long enough for us to get into our mature age as well as my nieces and nephew to grow up. Aunty Margaret was my Nana's eldest child born in Rockhampton on April 18th 1934 to nana and Edward Sullivan (Nana's 1st husband) which ended an couple of years later due to complicated circumstances. Nana and Aunty margaret came to brisbane in about 1937 which they lived in Spring Hill with an family called Turner with nana's best friend Sarah Turner and her 5 children Yvonne,John and triplets Patty,Dawn and Mickey which the last 3 would be friends with Aunty Margaret for the rest of their lives as well as with mum,aunty Dawn and Uncle John. Buddy the Concert show @ Kedron Wavell Friday july 15th

On Friday night July 15th I went to Kedron Wavell Services Club for the 2nd this month and I went to see Buddy the Concert that had Scott Cameron doing Buddy Holly. It was my 4th time seeing him as well as my 2nd for this year having seen him @ the Class of 59 show @ QPAC Concert Hall on Saturday April 2nd with lonnie Lee, Leon Isackson, Cassidy Wilson, Brian Dean, Alan Freeman, Eric Rassmussen, James Nation Ingle and anthony Petrucci. the show started at 8pm with Scott and the 59'ers JAmes nation Ingle and Simon Bentley doing other people's songs as well as a few Buddy Holly stuff with the guys wearing t shirts and jeans in the era when they were 3 young guys having fun and there was an interval which i had an look the memorabilia stall where there were CD's and the book written by Peggy sue Gerron(peggy Sue the song). there was an raffle which an lady won the handwritten lyrics of Peggy Sue and Scott came on stage to have the photo taken with the lady. the 2nd set had th

Mental As Anything show @ kedron Wavell July 8th 2011

last Friday night July the 8th I went to see the legendary Australian 80's pop group Mental As Anything at kedron Wavell which it was my 5th time seeing them as my first seeing them at the Hotel Carindale on Friday July 18th 2003. The show started @ 8.15pm which the group came on stage with temporary drummer as their current drummer Rob was not well and they put an FANTASTIC show as always doing all those famous hits as well as a few newer songs and 2 classic songs with Greedy doing the talking and having an great time as well as his funny sense of humor . Everyone was having an Great time singing along to those songs which still endures after 32 years when they had their first hit and the guys are just as great now as they have always been which every time I see them they just get better and better. The last show I attended for Cooly Rocks On 2011 was the Dooley rocks Cooly show at twin Towns on Sunday night June 12th and it had 4 of the Wickety Wak guys Rob Rosenlund, Greg Doolan, Tony Jeffrey and Pahnie Jantzen and Greg's wife Laura Doolan. It was my 2nd time seeing the Wickety Wak guys as I saw them @ Wynnum manly Leagues Club on Friday October 10th 2008 and it was FANTASTIC. I left around 7pm to walk to twin Towns and went to the 5th Floor where I saw Judy my friend on Facebook and had seen me at Wynnum Manly leagues club and i bought an live DVD of Wickety Wak performing @ Twin towns in 2007. I went in the showroom and the place was packed which it sold out. On Sunday afternoon i went to the Pure gold Stage on marine Parade which it had rained through Sunday morning even after the breakfast with the stars and there were some shows that were supposed to happened cancelled and thinking there would be shows but eventually the sun came out before midday which i was having lunch at the Pasta and Pizza Place where I had nachos for lunch and spoke with my friends from the gigs David and Richard. breakfast with the stars-Catfish Purser

On Sunday June 12th I went to the Greenmount Surf Club for the 3rd and last breakfast With the stars which this one had drummer of Johnny O'Keefe and the Dee Jays Catfish Purser. He and his partner kay were there along with one of the musicians who plays with Catfish in his band and said hello to him. Also there at the breakfast was my friends from the gigs Kevin and his wife Di and for breakfast i had the same hot meals as i had on Friday and saturday. I got an autograph and an photo with Catfish and I asked about the Delltones which he said he played on many of their hits like Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands,Hangin Five and others as well as groups like the Flanagans which he told me that he still keeps in touch with Margaret and also I remember Kevin asking about the noise on You hit the Wrong Note Billy Goat which Catfish told him about going to a farm and pulled the tail of goat. On Saturday night June 11th I went to the Coolangatta Tweed Golf CLub to see the sonics doing the shadows with Jim hansen doing Cliff Richard and the Chevrolets doing the British Invasion 60's music. Dad took me to The golf club as there was an problem as the bus did'nt at greenmount due to the road being blocked off and saw Marina(Matman's wife). The Sonics who are an Brisbane group have formed since 1961 and i have this band since 2007 at Wintersun and they are just Great doing the Shadows music so well. Jim hansen has been singing with them for about 3 years does an very good Cliff RIchard segment and their performance in their set which just FANTASTIC. There was an interval which I got an free poster and an live CD by the Chevrolets. In the 2nd set the Chevrolets came on which they did an FANTASTIC set doing the british 60's stuff which they did most of the same stuff I saw them doing on thursday but did an bit more different songs and it was great any way. at the

The four and last of the free show I saw on Saturday at the outrigger stage was the Melbourne rock group the Rockerfellaz . I only just had heard of the them prior to the festival and I had met Dennis the manager @ the breakfast With the Stars in june 2009 as well as sending me an message on Facebook about coming to Cooly Rocks on. the show on Saturday was just FANTASTIC as they did an great set of classic rock'n'roll songs from Little Richard,Jerry lee lewis, Gene Vincent, Bill haley and others and it's great to see these guys who are in their 20's playing those classic rock songs which it's great and I saw dennis for the 2nd time that week as I saw him on the way to Pizza hut on Tuesday and met david one of the musicians of the band. Catfish and the Dee jays

The 3rd show I saw @ the Outrigger Stage on Saturday was Catfish and the Dee Jays with Catfish Purser who played drums with johnny O'Keefe back in the 50's & early 60's in the Dee jays and played on many of Johnny O'Keefe's recordings like the Wild One(real Wild Child), Shout, So Tough, Sing and many others and plays around the Gold COast area with his Dee jays. the show I saw was just FANTASTIC as they did an set of great rock'n'roll stuff including stuff by Chuck berry, Buddy Holly,Eddie Cochran, Lloyd Price and of course Johnny O'Keefe and each member of the group doing lead vocals which it's great to see that and also everyone was having an great time dancing and singing along to those songs. It was my 3rd time seeing the band and the show was on for an about an hour which after the show said hello to Catfish and I was going to see him the next day for the Breakfast with the Stars @ Greenmount Surf Club. The Queen Of ROck Suzi Quatro Tribute Show

The 2nd show I saw at the Outrigger Stage on Saturday was The Queen Of ROck Suzi Quatro tribute show which had Brandi and the Badcats as it was only my 2nd time seeing Brandi doing the Suzi Quatro tribute show which my first was at Coolangatta during Wintersun 2008 on Sunday June 8th 2008 at the Twin towns stage and have mainly seen her doing the rockabilly stuff at mainly Carina Leagues Club for the last 3 years. The Suzi tribute I saw done by Brandi was just FANTASTIC and despite the cold wind and clouds everyone had an great time as Brandi was those classic Suzi songs that still endures after 38 years and Reno playing excellent guitar as always as the piano player David and Julian the drummer. joe Daniels and the Mighty Guys @ The Outrigger Stage

The first free show I attended was at the Outrigger Stage on Saturday Morning(June 11th) and I saw Joe Daniels and the Mighty Guys. I had gone from seeing the street parade on Marine Parade when I first heard music playing and went to the Outrigger Stage where I saw the Mighty Guys playing which i saw Mike Lawler and Mick hamilton recognised me as well as Mick said on the micro phone "Hi Luke" which I said "Hi Mick". They did an very good set doing classic rock songs and Joe Daniels came on stage which he did only an few songs but he was very good. I thanked Joe after the show which I saw at the Breakfast With the Stars with Little Pattie an few hours early when she introduced him to everyone and I said hello to Phil Eizenberg and Mike. Brekfast With The Stars Little Pattie

On Saturday morning June 11th I went to Greenmount Surf Club for the 2nd Breakfast With The Stars which this time it was Little Pattie. It was my time having breakfast with Little pattie as the first was @ the same place during Wintersun 2009 on Friday june 5th and it was an great time experience too talking about her career and people asking questions about her life which I asked about Jay Justin who wrote her early songs and how important was shows like Bandstand,Sing Sing Sing, Saturday Date, Opportunity Knocks and others. on this day Little Pattie came after 7am and said hi to everyone. I had bacon,Sausages,Baked beans, Tomatoes and Hash browns for breakfast and I saw Little Pattie coming to my table which she said "Hello My Darling Nice to see you" which I said nice to see you too and welcome to Cooly ROcks On. Little pattie got our attention an few times when there were problems concerning coffee and tea and the organization of the breakfast with the stars which she
