the Muppets

On Friday i went to the Hawthorne cinema to see the movie the Muppets. Gary(Jason Segel) and his brother Walter voiced by Peter Linz who is an Muppet live in Smalltown and are fans of the Muppet show when they were growning up. Gary plans an vocation to Los Angeles with his girlfriend Mary(Amy Adams) to celebrate 10 years of being together and Walter goes along with them which he wants to go and see the Muppet Theatre but it's derelict. While he snakes into Kermit's old office Walter hears that an oilman names Tex Richman(Chris Cooper) wants to destroy the Muppet Theatre to make it into oil underneath and appeals to Kermit to reunite the Muppets to do an show to raise money to save the Theatre which it's gets interesting throughout the movie. the Delltones Queensland Tour 2012

In May,June and July this year legendary Australian rock group the Delltones known for hits like Hangin Five, get A Little Dirt On your Hands and COme A Little Bit Closer are doing an tour of Queensland and they are still going after 54 years when they were formed in 1958 with original member Ian Pee Wee Wilson. the current line up of the group besides from pee Wee are Woody Finlayson(guitarist & Vocalist), Owen Booth(bass and vocals) and on drums and vocals Merv Dick which it's now an quartet as former lead singer Danny Mayers left in July 2011 to do his solo career and I have seen this line up which it's FANTASTIC and sounding good as ever. They will do some of their hits and other doo wop songs that have influenced them as well as other songs and also always put on an FANTASTIC show as they get the crowd going asking for me. The Howzat album by legendary Australian group Sherbet was released in 1976. this album was the first for member Harvey James(from Ariel) who had joined the group in early 1976 when founding member, guitarist and songwriter Clive Shakespeare left the group which Gunther Gorman joined but left within weeks and Harvey's first recording with the group was the title track Howzat which was written by Garth Porter and Tony Mitchell which inspired by the sport of cricket and it went to number 1 in Australia,no 4 in the UK, number 61 in the USA and was top 10 in Europe,South Africa,parts of the Middle East and some of the Asian nations. Last Friday January 20th I went to Carina Leagues Club to see Captain Wow an group who are from the Gold Coast and play around brisbane,gold coast and sunshine coast and do songs from the 60's,70's,80's up to now as well as reggae and country. It was my 4th seeing this group which I first saw them at the st Andrews Ball @ the Gabba on Saturday May 17th 2008, New Years Eve 2008 @ CArina League Club and March 26th 2010 which they were all FANTASTIC and they put on an FANTASTIC show. At Carina Leagues Club on Friday night they did 3 sets as they started @ 8pm which they started off with some acoustic stuff then rock'n'roll and did stuff by the Eagles, Boz Scaggs, Shania Twain, The Mamas and the Papas, the Bangles, Linda Ronstadt, Nancy Sinatra and others and people were having an great time dancing on the floor which I was one of them. the show lasted until 11.30pm which i said hello to Nick,Katie and Bettina and actually Katie did an stint with Darren J Ray for an t

Last Saturday I went to the TWin Towns Services Club to see legendary Australian singer Marcia Hines which it was my 2nd time seeing her as my first was at the Long Way To The Top concert @ the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Tuesday September 10th 2002 which she sang You,Fire and Rain and Your Love Still Brings Me To My Knees and she was FANTASTIC. At the Show on Saturday the support act was a local country singer-songwriter named Peta Evans Taylor who sings around Queensland and NSW and was on for about half an hour as she did songs she wrote as well as doing Nights In White Satin and she did an excellent set which there was an short interval. Last Tuesday I went to south bank cinema to see the movie Tower Heist. Josh Kovacs(Ben Stiller) is the building manager of the Tower in new York and is friendly with the tenants including the boss Arthur Shaw(Alan ALda). Shaw is arrested by the FBI for fraud which Josh thinks it's an misunderstanding and later finds out that the employees pension he asked shaw to handle is gone and along with 2 of the staff members and an evicted tenant they hire an petty crook named Slide( Eddie Murphy) to try to get the money back and it's gets interesting throughout the film. Last Sunday January 8th I went to the Easts Leagues Club in Coorparoo to see the Avengers an Brisbane rock group who were formed in 1965 playing around Brisbane, began recording for Columbia with singles like One More Chance and Listen Listen and also performed at the Hoadleys Battle of the sounds (an different line up of the group) as well as being managed by Glenn Shorrock(the Twilights/Axiom/Little River Band. the original line up of the group with Garth Austin, Roger Bellicoe, Mick Monaghan, Graeme Rabnott and Ross Bentley lasted until 1968 and then another line up which featured Roger Hicks went to become an member of popular Australian group Zoot in 1968 and the group eventually disbanded by 1970 which they were then called the New Avengers that featured David Briggs who went to great success with little River Band. Tin tin vocied by Jamie Bell is an journalist and the boy dectective along with his dog Snowy are on an tresure hunt looking for an sunken ship which was commanded by haddock's ancestor and Tin tin is kidnapped by people who work for sakharine(daniel Craig) which he is imprisoned on the boat SS karaboudjan. he meets Haddock the ship's captain (Andy Serkis)who is drunk and does'nt know what is happening to the ship and eventually him, Tin Tin and Snowy escape in an lifeboat and it gets interesting throughout the movie. it's brilliant and very funny with excellent performances by Daniel Craig who also voices Red Rackham (Sakharine's decendant), Jamie Bell as Tin Tin, Andy serkis who also voices Sir Francis Haddock (Captain Haddock's grandfather), Nick Frost,Simon Pegg, Tony Curran, Toby jones, Gad Elmaleh and others. it's directed by Steven Spielberg

Last Monday January 9th I went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie War Horse. On New Years Eve last Saturday I went to Carina Leagues Club to see an tribute show to motown called Signed Sealed Delivered which i knew about it a few months ago I asked Samantha in an email about who will be playiing which she sent me an reply about the Motown tribute. it's been 6 years since I 've been going to Carina Leagues Club on new Years Eve which my first one I attended there was in 2005 when I saw the Rockin Bodgies and I love going there everywhere which i always look forward to an great show every year which they are so exciting particuarly the countdown. The showed started at 8.30pm which they did 2 FANTASTIC set doing the Motown stuff as well as other soul songs like James Brown, Otis Redding, the Foundations, Dusty Springfield and others and during the first set the fireworks went off at 9pm which they were FANTASTIC and colourful as always which it's the only one they did that night as they have done it in the last 2 years as they don't do midnight any
