The Beetles/Classic Creedence show





On Saturday September 24th I went to East Leagues Club to see an Beatles and Creedence tribute show which prior to the show I had dinner with Mum and saw lyndon (Walter's Brother). The show started @ 8pm with the Beetles doing most of the famous stuff from the 60's as well as wearing the suits and ties on stage during the set which everyone including myself was having an great time and they were on stage for an hour and 40 minutes which they finished @ 9.40pm. There was an interval which i bought an glass of coke and then the Creedence tribute band came on stage at 10.10pm which they did the famous Hits by Creedence and everyone was enjoying themselves dancing on the floor. I left @ 10.45pm as I was getting picked up by Dad and the show was still going when I left. It was an FANTASTIC night and I had an great time.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

This is the book about 2 iconic Australian music shows that were on Channel 0 (now Channel 10)back in the 60's The Go Show on August 4th 1964 which lasted for 3 years and 222 episodes until September 17th 1967 and Kommotion hosted by Ken Sparkes was on from December 13th 1965 until September 28th 1967 after 356 episodes and in the book it has the info about both shows as well as episode guides as well the discography of both the Go label and the Kommotion label and the people who worked on Kommotion including Denise Drysdale and Molly Meldrum and many others including some memorabilla and photos of the artists. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stuff and amazing information about the Go Show which just celebrated 60 years an month ago and Kommotion as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth an read.
