New entries in the top 40 that week were- Led Zeppelin at number 32 with Whole Lotta Love, Murray Head and the Trinidad Singers with Superstar at number 36, Steam with Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye at number 37, Mark Lindsay(ex Paul Revere and the Raiders) with Arizona at number 39 and at number 40 the Jackson 5 with I Want You Back. the Australian acts on the charts that week were Bobby and Laurie at number 5 with Carroll County Accident which was an cover of the Porter Wagoner song, Ronnie Burns at number 8 with the song written by Johnny Young which was about Normie Rowe Smiley, Brisbane singer Jon Blachfield at number 9 with the song written by Brian Cadd and Don Mudie Son Of A Simple Man which was about Ned Kelly, Axiom at number 11 with Arkansas Grass, the Masters Apprentices at number 13 with Think About Tomorrow Today, Kamahl at number 15 with The Sounds Of Goodbye, Matt Flinders at number 18 with Picking Up Pebbles, Rolf Harris at number 22 with Two Little Boys and at number 24 Max Merritt and the Meteors with Western Union Man which it was an cover of the Jerry Butler song as well as being from the Max Merritt and the Meteors album and also among the other acts that were in the Top 40 that week were Tommy Roe at number 7 with Jam up Jelly Tight, Creedence Clearwater Revival at number 14 with the double sided Down On The Corner/Fortunate Son, Shocking Blue at number 19 with Venus, Diana Ross and the Supremes at number 25 with Someday We'll Be Together which was the last single for Diana Ross who left the group in 1970 and Roy Orbison at number 30 with Penny Arcade.
