Sam Phillips the Man Who Invented Rock n Roll is an biography about the man who founded Sun Records which had people like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, ROy Orbison, Carl Perkins and others which it's written by Peter Guralnick who wrote 2 books about Elvis Presley Last Train To Memphis and Careless Love. In this book it talks about Sam's upbringing in Alabama, working on radio, launching Sun Studios in 1950, Sun Records in 1952 which would launch Elvis Presley's recording career as well as people like Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Charlie Rich and many others, launching Holiday Inn Records, his marriage to Becky which they had 2 sons and many others. It's an AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB book with AWESOME stories and an great job Peter Guralnick did on this book. It's been nearly 14 years Sam Phillips passed away but has left an great legacy of music from the label he founded which still lives on to this day and it still rocks. This book is an must for fans of 50's music which I give it 5 stars and it's still in the shops somewhere do yourselves an favour and BUY IT.
