Dragon @ Kedron Wavell

On Friday June 20th I went to Kedron Wavell Services Club to see legendary NZ rock band Dragon which it was 3rd time seeing them as my first time was @ Kedron Wavell on Thursday July 13th 2006 with The Choirboys, Jenny Morris and Michael Spiby of the Badloves and the second time was on Friday January 18th 2008. I caught the bus to Chermside from Cannon Hill, walk to Kedron Wavell, rang home, had Nachos for dinner as well as a Sundae for desert, went inside, had a drink of water and spoke with some people including an couple who were at Cooly Rocks on. The show started @ 8.30pm with Dragon coming on stage with the line up of Mark Williams on lead vocals and guitar, Bruce Reid on guitar and vocals, Pete Drummond on drums and original founding member Todd Hunter on bass guitar which it's been the line up since 2006 when they got back together and for the next 2 hours Dragon performed 2 sets called The Dragon Trilogy which they celebrating 3 different eras of the Dragon period which first were the young years from 1973-79 when they started out in New Zealand and moving to Australia where they had the success with hit singles and albums, the second one was the Glory Years from 1982-98 was when they got back together, having more successful hit singles and albums as well touring Europe as well as Australia which lasted until 1998 with the sad passing of lead singer Marc Hunter and the Phoenix Years is the period when Dragon got back together which they played acoustic shows but playing electric since then as well as recording EP's, DVD's and albums and also in that first set they did the Phoenix Years which they did the songs from the albums and Ep's recorded as well as a Greatful Dead song as well as their version of Age Of Reason which was written by Todd Hunter as well as being the hit for John Farnham in the 80's and in the second set they did the Glory Years and the Young Years which they performed the successful hits like Rain, Are You Old ENough, April Sun IN Cuba, Speak No Evil etc as well as people were standing having a great time and singing along to those songs. The show finished around 10.30pm which after the show they had a CD on Sale called Trilogy which it has live recordings of the group in the 3 eras as well as selling posters and I bought the CD which I got it signed by the members as well as getting photos with Mark Williams and Todd Hunter and also Dad picked me up to go home. It was an FANTASTIC show which everyone enjoyed themselves including myself and Dragon were FANTASTIC as well as sounding great with great singing by Mark Williams as well as great playing by Todd, Pete and Bruce and also to those who have not seen Dragon GO and SEE THEM which you shall enjoy it which I'm sure it will bring back memories for the fans who grew up in the 70's and 80's as well as fans who were not born when they were around but have an interest in that era you will experience it and be impressed by seeing an great legendary band from New Zealand who became very popular in Australia.
