This afternoon I went to Kedron Wavell to see an Brisbane jazz singer named Melly Melody doing an tribute to the late legendary American singer Doris Day called A Sentimental Journey Celebrating Doris Day. Dad took me to Carindale, saw Desa an friend from work, caught bus and got off at Brisbane. Went to bus stop, caught bus, got at Chermside and walk t Kedron Wavell. Went to the Kitchen Café, rang home, ate Orero Sundae, had Chicken Burrito, chips and salad for Lunch, drank Coke Zero, spoke with an lady, went inside and had an drink of water. The show started @ 2pm with Melly and the band coming on stage which she did 2 sets doing the classic Doris Day songs from the big band ever as well as the songs from the movies as well as the songs not from the movies and in between songs would tell the stories about the songs as well as about Doris and did the duets with the trumpet player Joe who has an very good sense of humour and on one song it was Melly and the guitarist Simon and also getting the crowd to sing along to the songs. The show finished @ about 3.50pm, Melly and the band came out to say hello and getting photos with the fans which I got one with her as the guitarist Simon took the photo and I thanked Joe as well as Melly, I walk to the bus stop, drank Coke, caught bus back to the bus and caught the bus home. It was an FANTASTIC show which everyone had an great time including myself and an FANTASTIC performance by Melly with the band which she sounded great doing those great Doris Day songs and does an great job doing it with an great band with great guitar playing by Simon and the trumpet playing by Joe as well as great musicianship by the others and it's great to see an tribute to Doris Day being done and I look forward to see it again soon which to those who have not seen it do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will love it.
