1917

Tonight I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie 1917. 2 British soldiers Tom Blake (Dean Charles Chapman) and William Schofield (George MacKay) are given an order by General Erinmore (Colin Firth) which is they are given an mission to hand deliver an message to the 2nd Battalion of the Devon Regiment to tell them that to call off the attack on the German forces who have retreated to the Hinderberg Line as they are planning to ambush the battalion of 1600 men which Tom's brother Joseph(Richard Madden) is among them. Both Blake and Schofield go on their mission which they go through the trenches which was booby trapped and Schofield is nearly killed but survives and then they go to an abandoned farmhouse which they see an German plane crashes and Tom is killed when the pilot stabs him and also Schofield continues with the mission which gets interesting. It's FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT as well as Gripping with Brilliant acting by Dean Charles Smith, George MacKay, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden and Benedict Cumberbatch. It's directed by Sam Mendes who also did the screenplay and produced it with Brian Oliver, Pippa Harris, Callum McDougall and Jayne Ann Tenngren and the inspiration of this movie came from an story that Sam Mendes' grandfather Alfred told him. I am giving this 4 and an half stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you'll be amazed and impressed.
