Elvis

last Friday June 24th I went to the Events Cinema in the city to see the movie Elvis. Elvis Presley (Austin) Butler who lives in Memphis Tennessee but originally came from Tupelo Mississippi had grown up poor and finds music as an salvation which he is into the gospel as well as the black rhythm and blues music and is hanging around Beale Street in Memphis which the African American music being played as well as getting friendly with people like BB King (Kelvin Harrison Jr) and is getting played on the radio when an carinval Huckster and manager for country singer Hank Snow (David Wenham) named Colonel Tom Parker(Tom Hanks) who seems to be impressed with his performance and meet up which he offers Elvis to be his manager which he achieves great success with hit singles and getting girls screaming as well as there is people not liking him particuarly by the parents and older generation and then goes into the army as well as losing his mother Gladys(Helen Thomson) and meeting Priscilla Beaulieu (Olivia DeJonge) who eventually becomes his wife and many others. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT acting by Austin Butler as Elvis and Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker as well as Olivia DeJonge, David Wenham, Anthony LaPaglia, Richard Roxburgh, Helen Thomson, Kelvin Harrison Jr, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Luke Bracey, It is directed by Baz Luhrmann who also did the screenplay with Sam Bromell, Craig Pearce and Jeremy Doner and produced it with Gail Berman, Catherine Martin, Patrick McCormick and Schuyler Weiss. It was filmed on the Gold Coast for an year from January 2020 until March 2021 which was halted for 6 months from March until September 2020 due to covid and I have to say that both the performances of both Austin Butler and Tom Hanks are just they best they have done which any thing with Tom Hanks in it is so great as does it the role so well and Austin Butler really nails it as Elvis and both should be considered for Oscars. It will be 45 years next month since Elvis Presley passed away but has left an great legacy with the great music he made as well as the movies and it endures to this day as there is always new generations of Elvis fans. This is an must for Elvis Presley fans as well as rock and roll fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will love it and be amazed by it.
