Music Pictures New Orleans

last Thursday afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo as part of the Brisbane International Festival to see the documentary Music Pictures New Orleans. In this documentary 4 artists of the New Orleans music scene from the 60's and 70's Irma Thomas, Little Freddie King, Ellis Marsalis and Bennie Jones Sr from The Treme Brass Band were interviewed and they talked about their experiences in the music business and stories as well as showing footage of their recording and playing music in New Orleans which one of those interviews with Ellis Marsalis was sadly one of the last as he passed away not long after that and also it has interviews with Irma's husband Ed as well as musician working with Irma as well as musicians who worked with Little Freddie King and Ellis Marsalis' son Jason. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT as well as very impressive and very entertaining with great stories from these legends which it is well worth seeing. it is directed by Ben Chace and it must for music fans which I give it 4 stars and I hope it gets an official release in the cinemas in Australia which it is well worth seeing so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
