A Daughter's Tale MAry Soames

A daughter's Tale is the autobiography of Mary Soames who is the youngest of Winston and Clementine Churchill's 5 children as well as the only surviving child. In this book she talks about the loss of sister Marigold, up bringing in Chartwell, joining the ATS Services mixed anti barriers during World War 2, the annoucement of the second World War which shatters her world, beginning to share the burden of anxieties ands stress of the family, her father becoming British Prime Minster in 1940 until 1945, her devastation of her father's defeat @ the 1945 General Election and many others. It's an excellent and an BRILLIANT book with great stories and it's great to see that someone who is the child of an British Prime Minster who came at the time when second war occurred who is still alive to tell the story which it's great to see. this is the 6th book Mary Soames has written which she wrote an book about her mother in 1979 as well as personal letters of her parents called Speaking For Themselves but this is her first autobiography and it's an must for people who are into british history as well as people as people who are into Sir Winston Churchill. I am giving this 4 and an half stars and it's in the shops now
