Brisbands -jimmy Hannon the Escorts

Brisbands is the self published magazine that is put together by Andrew Ainsworth who has been doing the Primitif Sounds magazines which has interview with Brisbane bands from the 60's as well as Ain't Go Feelin. In this magazine Andrew interviews Jimmy Hannon who was an member of the well known Brisbane 60's group the Escorts which he talks about the group's early days, playing the gigs around brisbane as well as performing on the Brisbane music show Countdown(NOT THE MOLLY MELDRUM ONE) but the local version which was on Channel 0 now Channel 10 from 1966-67 and many others and this magazines has an obituary to legendary singer and an member of the Purple Hearts Mick hadley who passed away in October last year and an who's who's of Brisbane Bands from 1957-69 which has discography known reel to reel, acetates and record releases. It's an BRILLIANT and AN AWESOME magazine with an great interview with Jimmy which also has an additional first hand knowledge interview with Lester Vickary of the Saxons/the Dominoes/The Pacifics/Bobby Dean and the Worried Minds and an great effort done by Andrew who has been doing an great job putting the magazines together which it is great to see someone like him doing this as it is important to hear these stories from the musicians in brisbane who were there in that era. It is an must for anyone who lived in brisbane in the 60's who saw these bands as well as people like myself, andrew and many others who were not born in the 60's but has an interest in that era. I am giving this 5 stars and you have to buy this magazine online which you can go on to the Primitif Sounds website to do that.
