Classic Album-It's Everly Time by the Everly Brothers

It's back the classic album segment is here now and I'm looking forward to present the classic albums for this year which they will be some great ones coming up. For this week's segment let's have a look at the 1960 album by legendary American singing duo the Everly Brothers called It's Everly time. This album was their first one for Warner Brothers which they had just signed up after leaving the Cadence label where they had the great success from 1957-60 with classics like Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Suzie, All I Have To DO Is Dream, Bird Dog, Till I Kissed You among others and this album recorded at RCA Victor in Nashville Tennessee from March 8th-24th 1960. It's Everly Time was released in May 1960 which it went to number 9 in the USA and number 2 in the UK and from that album it had the 1 hit single written by Don Everly called So Sad which went to number in the USA that year and also Tom Palumbo did the cover photo. It an excellent and a wonderful album with great songs which besides from the 1 hit single there is 5 songs written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant as well as i written by Boudleaux himself called Just In Case who wrote those classic hits for the Everly Brothers as well as 5 covers including What Kind Of Girl Are You an Ray Charles song and it has a mixture of ballads and uptempo stuff with pop, rock, country, blues and gospel with those brilliant harmonies that made the Everly Brothers so good. As I said at that time the Everlys had just signed up with Warner Brothers and would have their first hit with that label with Cathy's Clown which was not on this album but the next album called A Date With the Everly Brothers and would continue to have great success until 1962 when their run of hits would end. It has been a month when the rock n roll world lost a true icon with the passing of Phil Everly but may the great music he made with Don will live on forever and I though it would be appropriate to do this segment in his memory.
