The Favourite

On Friday I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie The Favourite. It's 1708 with Britain at War with France and Queen Anne (Olivia Colman) is on the throne who has an health problem with Gout and has little interest in governing as she prefers to do racing geese and playing with her rabbits. Sarah Churchill the Duchess of Marlborough(Rachel Weisz) is her secret lover as well as her adviser and confidant rules the country by the confidences she passes to the Queen which her control of the Queen are undermined by Prime minister Robert Hartley (Nicholas Hoult). Then Sarah's cousin Abigail Hill (Emma Stone) comes to the Palace to look for work which she starts work as a maid then after the Queen's condition she gets involved which she puts herbs on the Queen's legs and becomes Lady In Waiting as she also planning for herself to win the Queen's favour which leads to interesting happening. It's Fantastic, Very Funny and Brilliant with Top, Fabulous and Brilliant acting by Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone, Nicholas Hoult and Joe Alwyn and it's directed by Yorgos Lanthimos who also produced it with Ceci Dempsey, Ed Guiney and Lee Magiday. I am giving this 4 and an half stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you'll be impressed.
