A Sentimental Journey Celebrating Doris Day With Melly Melody @ Carina Leagues Club.

On Friday night I went to the Carina Leagues Club to see an tribute show to singer Doris Day called A Sentimental Journey Celebrating Doris Day with Sunshine Coast Singer Melly Melody and it was my second time seeing the show as I saw it 4 months ago on October 6th last year at Kedron Wavell. Dad took me to the club, got a card, ordered Chicken Parmigiana, chips and Salad, bought coke and saw Ivy. Had Chicken Parmigiana, chips and salad for dinner, drank Coke, Ate Rocky Road, saw Leanne an lady I know from gigs, met her friend Narelle, talked and drank Coke Zero. The show started at 8pm with Melly Melody and her band came on stage which they did 2 sets doing the classic Doris Day songs from the 40's and 50's which included those from the movies and in between songs she would tell the stories about Doris from her start as an dancer and to the success in music and movies and the band was different to what I said saw at Kedron Wavell which at that show it had an trombone and an guitarist but on Friday night had the pianist, bass and drums as well as there some people dancing on floor which was great to see. The show finished at 9.45pm, thanked Melly, saw Dad and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which everyone enjoyed themselves and I had a great time too and Melly did an great performance doing the Doris Day songs very well as well as getting crowd to sing along to the songs which she is an excellent entertainer and also I look forward to seeing her again soon. If you have not seen this show please do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed.
