It Ain't Heavy It's My Story by Bobby Elliott


This is the autobiography of drummer and member of the legendary British rock group  The Hollies Bobby Elliott and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Burnley, taking an interest in Jazz at an young age, learning to play drums, first played in an local jazz trio, The Falcons and Ricky Shaw and the Dolphins which would feature 2 future Hollies Tony Hicks and Bernie Calvert, played in the Shane Fenton and the Fentones  which Shane would become Alvin Stardust in the 70's, joining the Hollies in mid 1963 which he is still with them to this day,  talking about the success they achieved in the 60's and 70's, the line up changes including the departures of Eric Haydock, Graham Nash and Allan Clarke which he came back, working with the Dave Clark Five, The Kinks, Elton John, Marianne Faithful, Sherbet, Burt Bacharach and many others.  It's AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and Impressive Stories as well as very entertaining and an enjoyable read too and this is an great autobiography by an true legend of British rock and roll. This is the second autobiography by an Hollies member which Graham Nash wrote his nearly 7 years ago and Bobby along with lead guitarist Tony Hicks are still with the Hollies to this day but sadly not touring because of the corona virus but they should be back on the road next year. This is an must for British 60's music fans as well as Hollies fans and I am giving this 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which You will love it.
