Be My Baby by Ronnie Spector

This is the updated autobiography of American singer and member of the iconic girl group The Ronettes Ronnie Spector and in this book she talked about her upbringing in New York, her parents divorced, started singing with Her sister Estelle and cousin Nerda Talley which they started as the Darling Sisters and Ronnie and the Relatives, playing in bar mitzvah as well as the Peppermint Lounge, recorded for Colpix but nothing happened chart wise, becoming the Ronettes, recorded for Phillies which they were produced by Phil Spector, achieving great success with classic hits with Be My Baby, Baby I Love You, Walking In The Rain and many others, the group breaking up in 1967, her marriage to Phil Spector which lasted until the early 70's, being kept prisoner and couldn't perform, escaped from her prison like marriage, getting her career back, her second marriage to Jonathan Greenfield which lasted 40 years which they had 2 sons as well as she had 3 from Phil Spector, encounters with Murray The K, Frankie Lymon, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Van Zandt and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stories as well as very entertaining and inspiring and well as very impressive which it's worth an read. There is an new foreword in the updated edition done by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones and Ronnie as we all know passed away back in January this year after an short bout of cancer and the updated book had been done 2 months before but she has left an great legacy of music that has stood the test of time of both the Ronettes and her solo work. This is an must for 60's music fans and I am giving it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will love it and be impressed.
