Hermans Hermits starring Barry Whitwam @ Kedron-Wavell September 10th 2010

Last Friday September 10th I went to Kedron-Wavell to see the legendary British rock group from the 60's Hermans Hermits which feature original member and drummer since 1964, bass player & vocals Geoff Foot(since the late 80's), Eddy carter on guitar and vocals since March 2004 and Kevan Lingard since July 2006 and it was ROCKIN & FANTASTIC and they get better and better every time they came here. It's my 7th seeing the group with Barry as my first time seeing them was the British 60's concert @ Festival hall in Brisbane on Saturday February 11th 1995 as they were on the bill with Billy j Kramer, Brian Poole, The Manfreds, Mike Pender's Searchers and Gerry and the Pacemakers and it's their 32nd Australian tour which the first was in 1966 with Tom Jones and ray Columbus. The support act was comedian Kenny Bennett which he was very funny telling hilarious jokes including Kevin Rudd, Sunday,Footy, Sydney and others and the group came on around 8.40pm which they were for over an hour and a half as they did many of the famous hits and other classic rock songs including Let there Be Drums played by Barry as well as he told the story about the recording of Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter and meeting Elvis Presley and also had an very good sense of humor and as well as getting the crowd going singing along to the songs. After the show they had CD's and a DVD which they came out to sign stuff and I got autographs and a photo with the guys which they remembered me from the shows as well being on FAcebook and myspace. I had an great time and shall be going to see them again when they come back next year and to those who have not seen this legendary British group from the 60's GO & SEE THEM as they put on an great show and have great humor.
