Issi Dye and Glenn Douglas at Wynnum Bowls CLub




 On Friday January 15th I went to Wynnum Bowls Club where I saw legendary Australian singer Issi Dye and Melbourne singer Glenn Douglas doing The Roy Orbison and Everly Brothers tribute show which it's my 5th time seeing Glenn and only saw Issi last month also at Wynnum Bowls Club for the afternoon show with former Delltones singer Danny Mayers. I caught the bus from my place to Wynnum, walk to the club, signed in, saw Issi Dye, ordered my dinner and had an conversation with Danny Mayers. Had Chicken Schnitzel, Chips and Salad for dinner, drank Coke and waited. The show started after 7pm with Issi started singing an few songs and then Glenn  coming out in the Roy Orbison gear joining Issi and did the classic Roy Orbison songs from the 60's to the 80's  as well as doing the Elvis song the Wonder Of You as well as Issi telling about working with Roy and when they did Pretty Woman Issi put on the Elvis glasses. There was an interval which I had Coke Zero to drink and there was pamphlets been put on the tables for Issi's next show on May 1st but tickets not on sale yet. The second set commenced  with the Everly Brothers set doing the classic songs of the 50's and 60's as well as Sea Of Heartbreak by Don Gibson, I Belong With You by Bobby and Laurie and Donna by Ritchie Valens as well as Issi telling the story about working with the Everlys in the 70's and towards the end of the set Danny Mayers came on stage doing 2 songs. The show finished at about 9.30pm, thanking Glenn, Issi and Danny, went outside, Dad Picked me up, stopped at Maccas and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show with great performances as always by Issi and Glenn as well as Danny for the songs and we all had a great time considering we can't dance at the moment which there were 2 ladies behind me were singing along to the songs. I look forward to seeing Issi on May 1st  and to those who have not seen Issi live do yourselves an favour and SEE HIM which you will be truly entertained by a true legend of Australian music.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song

Roland Storm , Bryan Davies and the Mighty Guys show @ South Tweed Sports Club June 6th 2015

On Saturday June 6th I went to the South Tweed Sports Club in the evening where I saw legendary Australian singers Roland Storm and Bryan Davies as well as the rock group the Mighty Guys. Dad took me to the Club, signed in, went inside, bought an Pepsi max, drank it, saw Mick Hamilton(had not seen since Sunday June 9th 2013) and Leon Isackson and waited. The show started after 8pm with the Mighty Guys doing a few songs which were classic rock n roll songs with lead vocals done by both Leon Isackson and Mick Hamilton and then Roland Storm and Bryan Davies came on stage which they did a few songs together which then Roland did his set which he performed an set of classic rock songs as well as doing his hit from 1992 with Rolling With the Flow and there was an interval which Roland was selling CD's as I already have them but he came which people bought them as well as seeing Mike Lawler which I mentioned to him about the Rajahs version of a Beatles song on the Australia Salutes the
