British Invasion Dvd






An Month ago ,the 4 DVD set "British Invasion" was released which has 4 DVD's and it's about 4 British music icons of the 60's-Dusty Springfield,gerry and the Pacemakers,Hermans Hermits and the small faces. The dusty springfield one has an interview with dusty in 1978 and another one from 1970 as well as interviews with back-up singers Madeline Bell and Simon Bell and Burt Bacharach as well as execellent clips some never been seen before including some from Brian Henderson's Bandstand. Hermans Hermits has interviews with 4 original surviving members of the group Peter Noone,Keith Hopwood,Karl Green & barry whitwam and it has an execellent clips of the songs including stuff from the new Musical Poll Winners concert in 1965 & 1966 as well as Ed Sullivan show and Brian Henderson's Bandstand and they tell excellent stories talking about how Barry & Lek Lekecenby joined the group, how they got the songs, the US fans and Dj's response to play Mrs Brown you've got a lovely daughter and others and even has an interview with the group in 1965. The gerry and pacemakers DVD has interviews with Gerry MArsden and Liverpool music journalist Bil Harry who the music paper Mersey beat which too has excellent clips of the songs and about how they got the songs like the inspiration of Ferry Cross the Meresy and Don't Let the sun Catch You crying and even has an interview with the group in Australia in 1964. the Small Faces has interviews with Kenny Jones, Ian macLAgan who joined the group in late 1965 and Jimmy Winston who was the original keyboard player from Janaury-October 1965 and played on What ya Gonna DO about it and it has excellent clips of the songs including from the german pop show Beat beat Beat as telling about the songs including All Or Nothing and also has an interview with Steve Marriott in Melbourne in 1968 when they toured australia with the Who. this boxed set has an cd of the live stuff as well. It's very well put together and it has an lot great stuff on it which it's an must for anyone who were around in the 60's as well people who werent around but into the 60's music. I gave it 4 stars and it's in the shops now
