Wintersun 2010-Johnny O'Keefe Celebration Concert Twin Towns June 10th 2010







Thursday night June 10th I went to twin towns to see the Johnny O'Keefe Celebration Concert which they've been doing it since 2003 and 2004 during Wintersun they do this concert as there is the statue of Johnny O'Keefe across the road from twin towns. This was my 3rd time as I saw the show on thursday june 7th 2007 as they had Col Elliott, Tony WOrsley,Vicki Forrest,Vicky O'Keefe and Dennis Knight as well as appearences by Catfish Purser and sax player Jimmy Sloggett at Twin Towns and @ Seagulls on Thursday June 4th last year(2009) as they had Dennis Knight,Lucky Starr,Little Pattie and Lonnie Lee. this show was ROCKIN & FANTASTIC which the show started at 8.30pm with the back up doing Apache and before the show started they showed some of the documentary from 2008 about J O'K. Deana Peher was the compere of the show and sang 2 songs Rockin RObin and Come On Everybody. Denise Drysdale was on next which she sang 4 songs as well as telling jokes & stories and impersonations which they were very funny and also sat on a man's lap in the front row and sang Hey paula with a guy from the audience. dennis knight was the last one on which he did an set of grear rock'n'roll songs including stuff by Elvis Presley,gene Pitney and Johnny O'Keefe which when he did Sing and Right Now Catfish Purser who played drums with Johnny O'Keefe and the Dee jays and still plays around the Gold COast as catfish and the dee jays came on stage to play those 2 songs. the show finished and after the show Dennis Knight and Denise Drysdale had CD's on sale after the show which i bought the Dennis Knight salutes Johnny O'Keefe which he signed it and i got a photo. I also got an autograph and an photo with denise Drysdale which it was an honour and thrill to meet and have an photo with an legend of Australian entertainment who is still working as she is on the circle on Channel 10. Meeting Denise Drysdale was one of the highlights for me at Wintersun 2010.

Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song

Roland Storm , Bryan Davies and the Mighty Guys show @ South Tweed Sports Club June 6th 2015

On Saturday June 6th I went to the South Tweed Sports Club in the evening where I saw legendary Australian singers Roland Storm and Bryan Davies as well as the rock group the Mighty Guys. Dad took me to the Club, signed in, went inside, bought an Pepsi max, drank it, saw Mick Hamilton(had not seen since Sunday June 9th 2013) and Leon Isackson and waited. The show started after 8pm with the Mighty Guys doing a few songs which were classic rock n roll songs with lead vocals done by both Leon Isackson and Mick Hamilton and then Roland Storm and Bryan Davies came on stage which they did a few songs together which then Roland did his set which he performed an set of classic rock songs as well as doing his hit from 1992 with Rolling With the Flow and there was an interval which Roland was selling CD's as I already have them but he came which people bought them as well as seeing Mike Lawler which I mentioned to him about the Rajahs version of a Beatles song on the Australia Salutes the
