The Good Old Days Of Rock and Roll Show at QPAC

Yesterday afternoon June 4th I went to the QPAC Concert Hall in South Brisbane to see the Good Old Days of Rock and Roll Show that had legends of Australian and Kiwi rock Dinah Lee, Digger Revell, Jade Hurley, Little Pattie and Lucky Starr which the last time I saw Dinah and Jade was at the Redlands Performance Arts Center Friday March 12th 2021, Little Pattie at Twin Towns for the Go Show concert Friday December 8th 2017, Lucky Starr at the Go Show concert @ QPAC Concert Hall Thursday May 2nd 2019 and Digger Revell at the Rainbow Bay Surf Club Sunday June 11th 2017. I walk from the city to South Brisbane, went to newsagent where I bought an Pen, went to QPAC, put bag in cloakroom, write notes, saw John Rutherberg and Robyn, went inside and use my mobile. The show started at 2pm with BBQ Bob Gallagher from Brisbane radio station 4BH coming on stage saying an few words about the acts and introduced the acts which Jade, Digger, Dinah, Little Pattie and Lucky came on stage doing Rockin All Over the World and Jade did perform Jerry Lee Lewis songs and an instrumental before finishing off with the Eddie Cochran classic Somethin Else with Dinah Lee, Little Pattie came on which she did songs by The Exciters, Connie Francis and Betty Everett, Digger Revell came on next doing 4 songs including 2 of his 60's hits I'm Building Castles In The Air and My Little Rocker's Turned Surfie which I am so glad that he did it as he has not performed the song in 40 years and I had never seen Digger sing it, Dinah Lee came on next doing 3 songs including 2 of her hits from 1964 Do The Bluebeat and Don't You Yockomo and Lucky Starr came out which he did 3 songs including Personality and there was an interval which I bought CD's by Dinah Lee, Lucky Starr and Digger Revell and an poster, ate Ice Cream, drank Pepsi Max, saw Allan who I know from the gigs which he told me that Stan Lez from the Brisbane group the Five was there and went inside. The second set started with Jade, Dinah, Digger, Little Pattie and Lucky came back on stage doing Clap Your Hands, then Little Pattie and Lucky Starr doing an great version of the Everly Brothers 1960 hit Let It Be Me, Lucky then performed 3 songs including his 1962 hit I've Been Everywhere, Dinah Lee came on stage doing 3 songs including her 1964 hit Reet Petite, Digger Revell came on doing 3 songs including his 1963 hit with Over The Rainbow which he mentioned that his daughter chantilly Lace was in the audience, Little Pattie came out which she did 3 songs including her 1963 double sided single Stompin At Maroubra and then Jade came out which 4 classic rock and roll songs and then did Shout with Pattie, Dinah, Digger and Lucky which was the last song of the show. The show finished at about 4.45pm, went out to the foyer, got my bag from the cloakroom, met BBQ Bob Gallagher from 4BH doing the Breakfast Show from 5am-9am which I said I enjoy his show as well as thank him for playing the great music every day as well as enjoy his postive vibe segment and got an autograph and photos, stood in line to get our things signed which I got autographs from Dinah, Jade, Digger, Lucky and Pattie as well as getting photos with Pattie, Lucky and Jade, met John Charter from Johnny Rebb and the Rebels and his wife Lyn Fletcher an Brisbane singer which I got an autograph and photos, saw Ronnie Kitchin who I knew from Wintersun and walk to South Bank for dinner and desert which I caught the bus home. It was an FANTATSIC show which everyone had a great time and Digger, Pattie, Dinah, Lucky and Jade put on an FANTASTIC show doing their classic songs which people remember as well as being backed up by an great band including Russell Bayne on guitar and Peter Volwes on Bass guitar and among the people audience were Vicky O'Keefe, George Harvey from the Four Kinsmen, Tom Kerr from the Brisbane 60's group The Beachies and Elvis tribute performer Dean Vegas.
