Jimmy Holmes and Mark Anthony Present the King On Stage 1968-72 at the Elvis Precinct Coolangatta

On Wednesday night June 7th I went to the Elvis Precinct in Coolangatta to see the Elvis tribute show The King On Stage 1968-1972 with Jimmy Holmes from America and Mark Anthony from Australia based in Queensland which it was Jimmy's first trip coming to Australia and it was my time seeing them both live. I went to Little Cooly for dinner which I had BBQ Pork, potatoes, corn and slaw and went to Baskin Robbins where I had an Sundae for desert and walk to the Elvis Precinct. Went inside, write notes and us my phone. The show started after 7.30pm with Kay Shannon coming out to introduced the acts and there was an diffrent back band this year for the Elvis tribute acts which was the 2IC Band which the first act was Mark Anthony who did the 1968 Comeback Special that Elvis did and performed the songs he performed on the show which he did an great set wearing the black leather gear and even did the sit down segment. There was an interval where I bought myself an Coke with No Sugar, drank it and went back inside. Then Jimmy Holmes who is in his 20's came on stage to do the 1972 period of Elvis Presley when he played at Madison Square Garden and performed many of the songs of the period when Elvis performed including the hits Suspcious Minds, Big Hunk of Love and Love Me as well as other songs including the gospel song How Great Thou Art and The American Trilogy. The show finished after 9.30pm which Kay mentioned that the people who bought the VIP tickets would get their photos with Jimmy and Mark and then those including who just bought the tickets would get the photo and got my photos with them as well as seeing Heidi and walk back to Ocean Resort. It was an FANTASTIC show and Mark and Jimmy did FANTATSIC sets doing Elvis in the different periods of the live performances which they did it so very well. The 2IC band were FANTATSIC along with the 2 ladies doing the backing vocals which they sounded great and every one had a great time and also in the audience was Mark's wife and former Australian swimmer Lisa Curry Kenny. I hope Jimmy comes back to Cooly Rocks On as well as Mark and Kay did an great job doing the intro to the acts and the telling us the info about the acts. Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song

Roland Storm , Bryan Davies and the Mighty Guys show @ South Tweed Sports Club June 6th 2015

On Saturday June 6th I went to the South Tweed Sports Club in the evening where I saw legendary Australian singers Roland Storm and Bryan Davies as well as the rock group the Mighty Guys. Dad took me to the Club, signed in, went inside, bought an Pepsi max, drank it, saw Mick Hamilton(had not seen since Sunday June 9th 2013) and Leon Isackson and waited. The show started after 8pm with the Mighty Guys doing a few songs which were classic rock n roll songs with lead vocals done by both Leon Isackson and Mick Hamilton and then Roland Storm and Bryan Davies came on stage which they did a few songs together which then Roland did his set which he performed an set of classic rock songs as well as doing his hit from 1992 with Rolling With the Flow and there was an interval which Roland was selling CD's as I already have them but he came which people bought them as well as seeing Mike Lawler which I mentioned to him about the Rajahs version of a Beatles song on the Australia Salutes the
