Girl In A Band Kim Gordon

Girl In A Band is the autobiography of American musician and founding member of American rock group Sonic Youth Kim Gordon. In this book she talks about her growing up in California having been born in New York, growing up with a mentally ill sibling, going to Canada where she she briefly studied @ York University in Toronto as well as forming her first band called Below the Belt, going to New York where she became fascinated by the no wave bands, formed another band called Introjection with 2 other ladies, meeting Thurston Moore with whom with along Lee Renaldo formed the rock group Sonic Youth in 1981 which would last for 30 years as well as influenced acts like Nirvana as well as inspiring the Riot Girl generation, her marriage to Thurston Moore which they would have a daughter together which lasted also until 2011 and many others. It is an excellent book with excellent stories which I enjoyed reading it and Kim Gordon performed in another band called Body/Head as well as involved with art as well. This is a book is a must for 80's music fans as well as Sonic Youth fans and I am giving this 4 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
