Kingswood Country
This is the iconic Australian TV comedy show Kingswood Country which the whole series is on DVD. In this boxed set it has all the 89 episodes from January 30th 1980 until September 13th 1984 and it has the memorable characters Ted Bullpitt(Ross Higgins) an conservative Holden Kingswood loving , politically incorrect World War 2 veteran who is constanly frustrated by family and strangers intruding his home on Wombat Crescent, his progressive thinking vague long suffering Wife Thelma (Judi Farr), Craig(Peter Fisher) their son which is an medical student, Greta (Laurel McGowan) their daughter who is an feminist and is married to Bruno(Lex Marinos) son of Italian immigrants Rosa(Shelia Kennelly) and Enzo (Joseph Furst), his brother Bob(Colin McEwan) an car salesman and his wife Merle (Maggie Dence) as well as the concrete aboriginal Neville and going through misunderstanding to an chain of humorous events. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with great episodes, great entertainment, great acting and the great humour that holds up very well after all these years. The catchphrases like pickle Me Grandmother, the Kingswood You're Not Talking the Kingswood, Leave the money on the fridge and others are still fondly remembered too. Also on the DVD are the blooper reel as well as the original sketch from the Naked Vicar Show an Channel 7 show in the 70's which the character Ted Bullpitt had come from and in this day of age you wouldn't do an show like that as there are too much political incorrectness now which it's a shame really as it was very funny and great entertainment which it was never taken seriously. It's hard to believe that it's 40 years this year when it started and 36 years when it finished but it is still fondly remembered as it is one of the great Australian TV shows and also it is great to see the whole series is on DVD which it's FANTASTIC as they had DVD's of it in the 2000's but only selected episodes. This is an must for fans of Australian Classic TV fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you love it.
