The Angels Kickin Down The Door

This afternoon I went to the Powehouse in New Farm to see the documentary about the legendary Australian rock band The Angels called Kickin Down The Door as part of the Brisbane Film Festival that is happening from Thursday until next Sunday November 6th. In this documentary it has interviews with members John and Rick Brewster, original drummer Charlie King, Buzz Bidstrup and Brent Eccles, Doc Neeson's first wife Dzintra, sons Dan and Kieran, Iva Davies from Ice house, Suzi Quatro, members of Cheap Trick and many others and talks about the start in Adelaide as the Moonshine Jug and String Band and the Keystone Angels before becoming the Angels, starting recording for Alberts, achieving success, trying to crack overseas, line up changes and relationships including between John and Rick Brewster and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT stories whch had also funny and sad moments as well as very well which it is one of the best Australian rock documentaries and there should be plenty more about Australian rock legends. It is an real honest story too and it is well worth seeing. Madeline Parry directed it and she did an FANTASTIC job with it. It is 9 years since Chris Bailey passed away and 8 years since Doc Neeson passed but they have left an great legacy of music that still endures to this day. Meanwhile the Angels with John and Rick Brewster with Dave Gleeson(The Screaming Jets) as lead singer are still touring the country currently which they will be in Queensland in november as part of the One Electric Day tour as well as QPAC in Brisbane as part of the Symphony of Angels show December 3rd and some Queensland shows in January 2023 as part of the Greatest Hits tour. This is an must for fans of the Angels which I give it 4 and an half stars and it will be shown at New Farm Cinemas on Wednesday November 2nd as part of the Film Festival as well as being shown offically in the cinemas December 1st. If You would like to see i do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed. You will Love it.
