Frankie J Holden and Wilbur Wilde show @ Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club

On Saturday Night June 9th I went to the Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club to see both Frankie J holden and Wilbur Wilde which it was my 3rd time seeing them as my first was at the Brisbane ENtertainment centre for the COuntdown Spectacular on Saturday September 16th 2006 and 2nd was at the Convention Centre for the Grease musical which also had Glenn Shorrock and Michelle Pettigrove(Frankie J's WIfe) on Saturday August 16th 2008 with my friend Matthew Stewart. the show started @ 8pm with Glenn A Baker doing the compering and the back up band on The Prowl with Mick Hamilton on Guitar doing the instrumental Nutrocker and Tony Worsley came on stage he did an great set as always including doing his 1965 hit Velvet Waters and in the interval I saw kathy Stephens an lady who i use to work with which she is well and talking about what's happening and had an coke zero and an packet of chips. In the second set Frankie J holden and Wilbur Wilde came on which they did an FANTASTIC set doing classic rock stuff as well as of the Ol'55 stuff including On The Prowl as well as Mick Hamilton doing Something About You baby and Kim Constable doing Boppin the Blues which was an hit for his old band Blackfeather in 1972 and the show finished after 10.30pm. There was Cd's and the tony worsley hat were on sale after the show, Met Kim Constable which I got an autograph and an photo which i asked about the Blackfeather guys which he told me that he has not seen them for years, said hello TO Tony Worsley and Frankie J Holden, got Wilbur's autograph and an photo with him and Frankie J Holden and saw Mick Hamilton which I got 2 photos with him. it was an FANTASTIC show and everyone enjoyed themselves including myself and it was an honor and thrill to meet Wilbur Wilde as he is an legend of Australian entertainment.I enjoyed Mick Hamilton doing Something About You baby which was great as well as it's on various artist compilations of Australian artists of the 60's and it's an great pity as there isn't an greatest hits CD of the Vibrants and Glenn A Baker did an great job again doing the compering and telling the stories about Ol'55 which were great. set list- Set 1 Nut Rocker-On the Prowl band tony Worsley- Talkin ABout You Minnie The Moocher Little Sister Raining Out Of Georgia Come On Everybody Johnnie Be Goode velvet Waters Set 2 Frankie J Holden and Wilbur Wilde- Rock'n'Roll Is King/Cottonfields/Be Bop A Lula/Great Balls Of Fire Don't be Cruel Diana Come Back Again(lead vocal Wilbur) Get A Job Something About You baby(Mick Hamilton on lead vocal) the Wanderer Twisting the Night Away(lead vocal Wilbur Wilde) Boppin The Blues(lead vocal Kim Constable) Almost grown Looking through An Echo On The Prowl Roll Over Beethoven
