Hitchcock

Last Friday I went to the Balmoral cinema with my mum Cathy to see the movie Hitchcock.
Alfred Hitchcock(Anthony Hopkins) having celebrated his latest successful film North By Northwest but is troubled by an reporters insinuation that it was time for him to retire and wanting to reclaim the artistic daring of his younger days Alfred gets an book called Psycho which is written by Robert Bloch that is based on famous crime done by killer Ed gein as he turns down film proposals like Casino Royale. Alma his wife(Helen Mirren) who is his artistic collaborator is no more enthusiastic as she is looking an screen play done by their friend Whitfield Cook(Danny Houston) but she eventually to Alfred's proposal which she suggests to have the female lead to get killed off early in the movie and he goes through lots ofobstacles to get the support for the movie filmed from the studio and the production Code the movie happens which he gets Janet Leigh(Scralett Johansson), Anthony Perkins (James D'Arcy)&Vera Miles(Jessica Biel) and there is tension between Alfred and Alma as she is pending time with whitfield which gets interesting throughout the movie. It's an BRILLIANT movie with BRILLIANT acting by ANthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock, Helen Mirren as Alma, Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh, James D'Arcy as Anthony Perkins, Jessica Biel as Vera Miles, Toni Collette as Peggy Robertson, Raplh Macchio as screenwriter Joseph Stefano, Danny Houston as Whitfield Cook, Michaek Wincott as Ed Gein and others. It is based on the book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello, directed by Sascha Gervasi and produced by Ivan Reitman, Tom Pollock, Joe Medjuck, Annette BArnette and Tom Thayer. i was very impressed with and amaze to know what happend behind the scenes which it is hard to believe that it is 53 years when Psycho came out and it still has an impact to this day. I am giving this 5 stars and it's running in the cinemas at the moment.
