the Searchers @ kedron Wavell February 17th 2012

On Friday February 17th I went to Kedron Wavell to see legendary British group The Searchers which it was my 7th time seeing them as my 1st was at Kedron Wavell on fRIDAY March 16th 2001 as i went with mum and 6 more times have been at kedron Wavell as well which they have all been FANTASTIC.The current line up of the Searchers are original founding member John McNally on guitar and vocals,Bass and vocals since 1964 Frank Allen, guitar and lead vocals since 1985 Spencer James and on drums Scott Ottaway since 2010. The show started after 8pm with the group did 2 sets doing the hits, album tracks as well as other people's songs and even did some rarities that I have not seen do live Like Take It Or Leave It, All My Sorrows/Where Have All The Flowers Gone as well as Frank Allen doing the talking telling stories about the Searchers career as this year is 50 years when the group became an quartet as Johnny Sandon who had been the lead singer left the group to join the Remo Four as well as talking about the Australian tours in 1964 and 1966 working with Del Shannon and the Rolling Stones as well going to America in 1964 performing with Martha and the Vandellas, the Ronettes, the shangri Las, Little Anthony & the Imperials as well as the influences like Buddy Holly and also their sense of humor was very funny mainly with John McNally and Frank Allen. there was an interval where i bought an live DVD and an live Cd "Still Searchin" and the show would continue until 10.15pm when it finished and also the guys came to sign autographs and have photos taken with the fans which I got my photo with the guys. I saw Karlotta,Michael and Maxine from work as well as speaking with an lady who had met the Beatles,Jimmy Barnes,Jim Morrison and others. It was an FANTASTIC show which I had an FANTASTIC time enjoying the show and everyone was having an great time singing along to the songs which still endures after all these years. the Searchers were FANTASTIC playing great and getting everyone to sing along to the songs as well as having an good time and also they get better and better everytime I see them. I look forward to see them again next year and to those who have not seen the group go and see them as they put on an GREAT show which will bring back memories for those who live in that era of the 60's when music was exciting.
