Nothin To Lose the Makin Of KISS by Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Ken Sharp

Nothin To Lose the Making Of KISS is the biography of the legendary American rock group KISS and it is written by founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and Ken Sharp. In this book it talks the beginning of KISS when Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley met in 1970 which they played in a band called Wicked Lester who had been called Rainbow which they would record for Epic but nothing happened and the band would split in 1972, Paul and Gene came across an ad in the East Coast version of Rolling Stone magazine which was done by drummer Peter Criss who had played in Lips and Chelsea , going into the hard rock style as well as getting into the make up which had inspired by Alice Cooper and Slade, Ace Frehley joined in 1973, becoming the name KISS which Paul Stanley came up with the name, played their very first gig @ the Coventry January 30th 1973, began recording for Casablanca in that year in 1973, going on tour in 1974 and the rest is rock n roll history and it also has interviews with the 4 KISS members as well as people like Suzi Quatro,Bob Seger, Eric Bloom of Blue Oyster Cult,Alice Cooper, Eric Carmen, Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith, Francis Rossi of Status Quo, Kim Simmonds of Sawyer Brown as well as management and people who worked behind the scenes and many other people as well. It is a AWESOME and a BRILLIANT book with great stories by the people involved and it is great to know about the early days of one of great rock n roll bands that is still going after 40 years and a band that should be inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. A job well done by Paul and Gene as well as Ken Sharp who had written a KISS book called Behind the Mask. This book is a must for any KISS fans as well as fans of the 70's music and I am giving this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
