Ray Davies Americana
Americana is a autobiography of legendary British singer-songwriter and founding member of legendary British 60's rock group the Kinks Ray Davies. In this book Ray talks about his fascination Of America with it's movies, music and culture of freedom which fed his imagination, the first American trip in 1965 which they were banned from touring there for 4 years until 1969, touring there eventually touring from 1969 throughout the 70's,80's and 90's, his feelings of love, confusion and fascination, him being shot during a botched robbery in New Orleans in 2004 and many others. It's a EXCELLENT and a BRILLIANT book with great stories with candour, humour and wit Ray takes us on a road trip through his life and career. it will be 50 years next when the Kinks came on the scene with You Really Got ME and the group are one of the influential acts in the history of rock n roll and also is Ray is still touring and still recording after all these days. This book is a must for any Kinks fans as well as fans of 60's music and I am giving this 4 and a half stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
